Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics)
Relieve Pain, Save Your Natural Tooth

Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic treatment, is a safe and effective way to treat infections inside a tooth and preserve your natural smile. At Dentistes Fabreville, we provide gentle, modern root canal care designed to relieve discomfort and restore dental health.

What Is a Root Canal?

A root canal is a procedure used to treat the inside of a tooth when the pulp (the soft tissue containing nerves and blood vessels) becomes inflamed or infected due to deep decay, cracks, or trauma. If left untreated, the infection can spread and may lead to abscesses or tooth loss.

Signs You May Need a Root Canal
  • Persistent tooth pain

  • Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers

  • Swelling or tenderness near a tooth

  • Darkening or discoloration of a tooth

  • Pain when chewing or touching the tooth

The Root Canal Procedure

Root canal therapy typically involves the following steps:

  1. Diagnosis & Imaging: We examine the tooth and take X-rays to assess the condition of the pulp and surrounding bone.

  2. Cleaning & Shaping: After numbing the area, we remove the infected tissue from inside the tooth and clean the root canals.

  3. Filling & Sealing: The cleaned canals are filled with a biocompatible material and sealed to prevent reinfection.

  4. Restoration: A crown or filling is placed on the tooth to restore strength and function.

The procedure is usually completed in one or two visits, depending on the complexity of the case.

Will It Hurt?

Thanks to modern techniques and anesthesia, most patients report little to no discomfort during a root canal. In fact, the procedure is intended to relieve the pain caused by the infection.

Preserve Your Natural Tooth

Root canal therapy allows you to keep your natural tooth, maintain normal chewing, and prevent shifting of surrounding teeth — all while avoiding the need for extraction.
